Autumn Ready Home Maintenance Tips:

Welcome to comfy & cozy fall! Here are a few reminders for your home maintenance now that the seasons are changing:

Remove the Leaves from Your Eaves

Make sure eaves and downspouts are free of leaves, dirt and debris in order to prepare them for winter freezing and snow.

Downspouts can also be put up over the winter months, if you so choose. Remember to keep watch for pooling water on the warmer, melting days and place down when needed. Right now is also a great time to remove any outdoor hoses from your hose bibs.

Helpful Humidity & HRV

Ensure your humidifier is turned back to the ‘on’ position, along with your furnace venting, directing air from it. This is also a great time to clean your humidifier and HRV filters.

A clean and utilized HRV along with a humidity setting of 25% – 35% will help to balance your homes humidity and condensation through proper airflow and decreased moisture.

Is Your Filter Full?

Be sure to check your furnace’s filter this time of year and if it is dirty and full replace it.

Keeping your furnace in tip top shape for winter will assist with your all mechanical units working at their best, as well as the airflow and circulation in your home.
