We’ve got spring fever – home maintenance tips

A few reminders for your home maintenance now that the weather is getting warmer.

Melt, Melt, Melt…

Please make sure water is draining away from the home and not pooling next to it. Areas to review regarding spring run-off are your sidewalks, walkways, and ground area next to the home

Downspouts that have been put up over the winter can also be dropped down to drain the water run-off away from your home.

Filter Fluff Be Gone!

It’s a great time to check the filters of your

  • Furnace
  • HRV
  • Humidifier

Do they need a good clean? Do they need replacing?
Check each to make sure they are in tip top shape for our up and coming season. Clean filters will assist with your mechanical units working at their best, as well as the airflow and circulation in your home.

Bring on the BBQing

If your BBQ or outdoor grill has been hibernating all winter, here are some reminders before waking it up to use:

1. Reconnect the natural gas (if applicable) if it has been disconnected

2. Turn the gas back on (if applicable)

3. Review location, making sure it’s not too close to the house and siding.
